Oftentimes, as parents, especially stay-at-home mothers, we can get lost in our duties of love. We ensure they eat, learn, play, wash, and repeat. And if we remember, we also pray, teach, and worship. And if we are able to, we make sure they are in activities and socialize. It might be a little different depending on who you are and your priorities. But the majority of us, love in these ways. Everyday. Nonstop. Day after day. And we can lose the adoration, passion, or drive because of the mundane pattern of events. But I am HERE to TELL YOU.
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.”
Psalm 127:3-5 NKJV
Children are NOT a burden. They are gifts from God the Father. The mundane pattern of events, are all essential to the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth of our children. Whenever those are lacking, you can see it in their adolescent years and adulthood. These responsibilities of care are very crucial in their development.
Nonetheless, the Lord God gave us these incredible little human beings as gifts to enjoy and raise up for His works. I know, you know, you need to train them up in the Lord (Proverbs 22:6 & Ephesians 6:4). Well…hopefully you do. We can talk about that another time. For the sake of this topic, I need you to focus on this right now, ENJOY YOUR KINGDOM KIDZ. Your baby chicks are only chicks for so long. They are only in the nest for so long. Till they fly and have their own family as hens and roosters. As we hear all the time,
“Those little feet won’t be little forever”

Therefore seek to have the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), the next time they make a spill or break a piece of furniture. And allow the precious Holy Spirit to work through you in love, patience, and self-control. I remember when I was just getting off the phone with my best friend, speaking about how hard it could be to parent little ones. And my sweet, adventurous little two-year-old (at the time), Judah, dropped one-fourth of my anointing oil on his dresser and floor. Now it was not a travel sized one, but a good 16oz bottle of extra virgin olive oil on our hardwood floors. I just sat there and stared. In the back of my mind, I was like “Judahhh…John!!!” I hung up the phone. Instead of listening to my mind and keeping my heart rate down. I received an Holy Spirit idea! I POURED more oil on the floor, so we could play slip and slide, soccer, and every “safe” game you could play inside two rooms. Oil was everywhere. It truly was holy ground.
You see, I had a choice to make. I can either yell and scream out of frustration; which I have done plenty of times before. It just makes matters worse and grieves the Holy Spirit. Or I could have yielded to the Spirit of God in patience and self-control. With that being said, I decided to make a memorable evening for my Kingdom Kidz. I decided to enjoy them. Till this day, they want to slip and slide in the house. The cleanup was not fun, but it was all worth the while.
Enjoying your children may not keep your house clean or them. It may not be the most traditional way. It may not be at the most opportune time. However, it does keep the heart warm and the love blooming. That’s what God wants. For you to enjoy His beautiful , meticulous, wonderful, and awesome creation, He calls gifts. His gifts keep on giving. That’s the secret. If you do your part in nurturing Kingdom Kidz, you will have your reward in this Earth and in Heaven. That is the will of the Father.
