Hold and stand still in the midst of the storm. You may have a similar trial as someone else’s, but everyone’s storm is different. Each battle is hard for that person. So please, seek the Lord. Christ, the King, the Deliverer, the Rescuer is with you. He desires to come to your rescue. I can confidently proclaim, “He will come and deliver you from the storm. Whatever it is. He will.” All you have to do is call out to Him with your whole heart and ask for help. How do I know this? Because Christ, my Defender, has delivered me from many troubles and continues to keep me in each tribulation I come to. It may not be how I think He should answer my prayer or when He should do it, but He is always, RIGHT ON TIME! That is why I said, to hold on and stand still. Pretty much, wait on the Lord.
Nonetheless, there is scripture evidence for what I am explaining. Let’s take a look!
Now it happened, on a certain day, that He got into a boat with His disciples. And He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side of the lake.” And they launched out. But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm. But He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!”
– Luke 8:22-25 (NKJV)
When the disciples didn’t have enough faith to rebuke the storm on the sea, with the authority Jesus has given them, they called out to Him. The Almighty immediately got up and rebuked the storm. Yes. The main message of this passage addresses the lack of faith in the disciples. And how God has given His children the ability, through the Holy Spirit and in faith, to rebuke the storm. (It is an opportunity for us to operate at a higher level of faith and authority.) However, there may be times during a storm where it feels to big for you to handle. Where death is near or maybe knocking at your door. When you tried every solution you could think of and you are afraid, with nothing left in you. Times like these, Jesus the King, understands and has compassion on you. So He comes like a rushing wind; with freedom, mercy, and grace and saves you.
“And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.”
Exodus 14:13 (NKJV)
God’s love for us is truly amazing. Hold on and seek the Lord today. My heart bursts with Christ’s love and compassion for you. May you rest in the Lord and trust in Him.
